What happened with her afterwards, will enrage you further. 

According to a TOI report, 3 police stations sat on her complaint for hours, one of the police personnel, called her story ‘filmy’ and refuse to lodge a complaint. She was mocked for reporting her own rape. 

The woman, whose parents both belong to the security forces, allegedly went to several police stations but was turned away. While returning from a police station, the woman spotted two of her rapists. The family chased them and handed them over to the police.  

According to an NDTV report, the police have also been accused of keeping the crime under wraps because it took place on a day it was preoccupied with the Madhya Pradesh founding day celebration.

The police have arrested the four rapists. The accused are identified as Golu Bihari, Amar Chhantu, Rajesh, and Ramesh.

The National Commission For Women has also written to DGP, Madhya Pradesh to not only take strict action against the culprits but also the police personnel who refused to file her complaint.

A 19-year-old student in Bhopal, studying for the Indian Administrative Services, gang-raped and then humiliated by people who are supposed to protect her. She catches her own rapists when the police doesn’t do its job. To say we are astounded with her bravery is an understatement. Is India no country for women?

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has directed trial of the case in a fast-track court.
