Leon Trotsky was a Soviet revolutionary, Marxist theorist and a politician who was also a leading figure in the Bolshevik movement under Lenin during the early stages of Soviet communist rule. He got involved in politics only when he was a teenager. He  joined the Bolsheviks just before the 1917 October Revolution and he also went to to become one of the seven members of the first Politburo, founded in 1917 to manage the Bolshevik Revolution. Between 1918 and 1922 he became an important figure in the Bolshevik victory in the Russian Civil War. He was bold, outspoken, courageous and fearless when it came to standing up for what’s right. However, after the rise of Joseph Stalin in the 1920s and the increasing role of bureaucracy in the Soviet Union, his struggle against the Left Opposition fell flat. Sadly he was removed as Commissar for Military and Naval Affairs (January 1925), removed from the Politburo (October 1926), removed from the Central Committee (October 1927), expelled from the Communist Party (November 1927), exiled to Alma–Ata (January 1928), and exiled from the Soviet Union (February 1929). He was assassinated in Mexico City with an ice axe on 20th August 1940 by a Spanish born agent. Here are some inspiring quotes by him that will give you a better understanding of the world.
