Shillong hosted the third edition of India’s International Cherry Blossom Festival and with the photos that have started floating on social media, wanderlust is guaranteed.

The only Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival in the world, the festival celebrates the Himalayan Cherry Blossoms.

|| Autumn Cherry has Bloomed || 🌸 ~After Japan, India is the 2nd Asian country to hold the Cherry Blossom festival. It started 3years back to celebrate, but then I finally managed to attend the 3rd India International cherry blossom festival this year. Your eyes go wide open when you see the pastel pink flowers flaming every tree in rows & rows~ #autumncherry #cherryblossom #travel #whereisnortheast #natureclicks #pink #naturephotography #skyporn #lonelyplanetindia #walknclick #wanderlust #iwanderwhy #incredibleindia #cherryblossomfestival #streets_oftheworld #northeast #traveller #travelgram #travelblogger #traveldiaries #travelphotography #indiapictures #cherryblossomfestival2018 #thephotosociety #theuncommonbox #chalohoppo #getgalvanised #flowers #flowerstagram #indiainternationalcherryblossomfestival

And looking at these photos, you’ll agree – such beauty definitely deserves to be celebrated.

The festival that first started in 2016 also hosts fashion shows and rock concerts, along with presenting stalls that exhibit the region’s local food and craft.

But the subject of the festival – the beautiful cherry blossoms – are what make for a breathtaking view indeed.

No matter how hard we try, man can never recreate the beauty that exists in nature.

This is definitely nature at its best. We humans don’t deserve such wonders.

And here I am, looking at the fake flowers on my desk, imagining about a vacation I always think I deserve.
