#SelfCareSunday Yes, food is good for your body. Yes, nutrition for the body is important but what are you doing for your mind? What are you feeding the mind? What nutrition are you giving the mind? And this I ask because most of the time I’m just on the social media vortex (more Instagram.) Of seeing what others are doing, how either everything is lacking in my life…be it my body or my food or how I could be travelling more or meeting more people or just how something in my life is always lacking and I m never good enough. I always own up to my shit and be real with y’all. And I believe this happens to most of us to compare our lives in this tiny device to make us feel miserable and then we are just sitting there thinking about how we are never enough and possibly think we can never be. So what are you doing to change it? Do you always want to be the only person attending your pity party? Do you always want to feel insecure? Do you always want to live in pain? If your answer to all this was no then what are you doing to change it? I could give you a suggestion which COULD help. Reading. And I know for most people this could seem boring and tedious but if you want to change your brain patterns you need to keep yourself occupied with HEALTHY alternatives. Books allow you to travel through time, give you better understanding of life, make you feel differently about yourself, break patterns of your cycle of hate because when you read it makes you happy. Now I know reading can be tedious for most people, hey I’m dyslexic and I read REALLY SLOW but that doesn’t mean you can’t start somewhere. 1. There are audio books. Where you can listen if you find reading hard or tiresome or annoying. 2. Read one page everyday before sleeping and do that everyday even if it takes you one year or two years to finish a book at least you have. At least you read so even though you thought you couldn’t do it YOU DID IT! . . So I’m going to give you 5 books that changed my bloody life and how. And you can too (even if it’s one or how many ever) so that i can read something else plus other people have a whole book list to read as well if they like. . . Continued in comments 👇🏾

I do not know of any human being who does not have moral shortcomings..We all do..there is no human being who might not have done something wrong through an act.. many good people make mistakes too out of weakness.. The weakness may be momentary but the consequences are permanent.Does one such mistake or wrong act make a person dishonourable ??? So proud of all the Ashtanga practitioners who turned up in full force to practice with Guruji, @sharathjoisr this morning. When I first started Ashtanga Yoga and went to Mysore, it was not considered a cool practice by Indians ,was considered only for the weak, sick or old.. and there was hardly any Indians practicing, and when I told my family back then in 2001 that I wanted to be a yoga teacher, they thought I had gone mad!!!!.. Back then in Mysore there were mostly westerners practicing and a handful of Indians. This morning to see a room full of enthusiastic Indian practitioners in the room, practicing with full gusto, made me so emotional.❤️😍 . Hope the numbers keep increasing.💪🏽🇮🇳 Once again all you guys who showed up this morning, I’m proud of you, you guys did a great job!!!!👍🏼❤️🙏🏻 . See you once again on the mat tomorrow morning.🔱💪🏽🕉 . Thx once again to @truebayindia for making this happen.

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves. ” – Carl Jung Our perception of others has nothing to do with them and everything to do with us. We literally concoct our own perception about people that we meet based on our own relationship with ourselves and our own personality traits. The most empowering move we can make is to actually see ourselves as the problem because then we automatically become our own solution. 📸 @ace_rege . . . . . . . . #yogaeverywhere #YogainPublic #naturephotography #natureyoga #psychology #psychologyquotes #carljung #lizardpose #shoulderopener #flexibility #fitindianwomen #yogaeverydamnday #yogaforlife #igyogafamily

Day 2 #YogisAndMentalHealth Today I choose #parivrttaparsvakonasana Self trust!! Everything comes down to your relationship with yourself. When you get more confident and become more rooted in your sense of self and your center, you develop a healthy, balanced ego, where you have nothing to prove and nothing to hide. You’re not afraid of difficult conversations—you know you’re still going to be OK at the end of the day. With Yoga, you get to know yourself and cultivate a more nonjudgmental relationship with yourself. You are building self-trust. You exercise more and eat healthier, because your unconscious mind tells you, “I’m worthy of this me time, this effort.” Why #parivrttaparsvakonasana ?? Because, the strength and actions of the legs provide the stable base that frees the spine to twist. At the same time, the strength and actions of your arms help to generate the twist of the spine. Something that we all needs in our life ❤️ . 🌸Hosts🌸 @shiziks @divyak_yoga @antonio_all_in_one_breath @piccolayogini @thehappyyogii . 🎁Sponsors 🎁 @onzie (my outfit 😍) @yogabody @stardustmala (my bracelet 😍) @yogetrymats @myyogateacher – 3 winners @yogaevo – 2 winners . . #yogislearnmudras Day 2 #shunimudra #shoonyamudra “The middle finger represents courage to hold duty and responsibility. The thumb represents fire and divine nature. When the two fingers are placed together it is meant to symbolize and encourage patience, discernment, focus and discipline.” . How to do the Shuni Mudra The middle finger and thumb are lightly touching at the tips. Use just enough pressure to feel the flow of energy but not to whiten the fingertips. The remaining three fingers are held out gently, relaxed. Mudra helps to encourage compassion, understanding and patience towards others.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ . For this day I choose to do #halfmoonpose As it requires you to maintain your balance and steadiness 🧘🏻‍♀️ . #postpartumjourney 4 days ago this pose just wasn’t happening. I tried for another 3 days. Still my hips were unable to lift off the floor. I was on the verge to give up the challenge and my sister @bookishdiva knows it; also coz considering my SI joint and pelvis are already in so much pain all the time. 😞 Yet, this morning when I woke up, I had this sudden urge to try this pose again. I was like ‘okay’, I tried again, and Omg, goodness God THIS happened!!!! 😲💃My hips were ABLE to lift off the floor for tiny seconds, then 2 more seconds and when tried again I held for 3 secs and that’s when I clicked this picture. My gooshhhhh!!!! Its a big freaking deal for me from where I can see it. Embracing and celebrating my baby improvements #postpartum ! THIS right here is my another motivation to keep going. I’m patient with my body and practice. I keep trying Coz that’s one thing that’s totally I am capable of. Regardless of however much slow the improvements I am making, the thing that I can still get on my mat and can practice, IS everything to me right now. Catching up with Day 7 of #YogaKnot with @cyogalife Pose: Ashtavakrasana or Eight angle Pose Much love to you all. Hey OMies! Hope you all doing fab. I had terrible hip pain last evening so I tried some pain relieving asanas prior to sleep and repeated after waking up too. Also slept after taking the turmeric + jaggery milk to help ease the pain for next day. And to my surprise the pain was bearable again! Was hurting while walking which is usual but nailed a 2.4km walk despite the lil pain and rain (more in my stories). The hip opening stretches has started feeling so good again. So to sum it up, it’s all getting better. I couldn’t be happier right now. The mindful efforts has started paying off. Much love to you all.
