The usual zebra crossing indicates where vehicles have to stop but it doesn’t really create an urgency in drivers. Thus people tend to cross the line (pun intended).
But a town in Iceland called Ísafjörður has come up with a solution – 3D zebra crossing! The optical illusion is supposed to make drivers slow down.

Icelandic environmental commissioner Ralf Trylla saw a similar project being carried out in Delhi and got inspired to implement it in Iceland too.

The cleverly-detailed optical illusion catches a driver’s attention urging them to slow down seeing the floating zebra stripes. A similar initiative was carried out in Ahmedabad too.

The ones in Iceland look equally quirky.

The video can get you tripping!
Well, we hope the drivers are not caught off guard as it can be quite tricky too.
