I remember the first time when I saw Swat Kats, the only thing that I wanted was that super-cool airplane, a bike like Razor’s and a hanger where all the cool stuff was. I mean, back in the day,  T-Bone and Razor were the epitome of friendship and coolness. One was a badass pilot, while the other was a slick and accurate co-pilot. Such was the way that they worked, that imagining one without the other was impossible.

Honestly, that is what is so great about each and every fictional character that has a partner who either has his back or is willing kick his back, when he falters. Whether it’s Legolas & Aragorn from the LOTR or Timon & Pumba from the Lion King, all of these characters have one thing in common – they’ve stood by each other through thick and thin.

Just like them, here are 6 other fictional characters who’ve given us major friendship goals:

1. Sherlock Holmes and John Watson

Let’s accept at this point that no matter where these two show up – be it in books, movies or on television – they are going to rule. They are complete opposites of each other, yet the cold and calculated Holmes complements John’s passionate and considerate persona brilliantly. Is it any wonder that they wouldn’t be best friends? Elementary, my dear Watson!

2. Chandler and Joey

These two have defined friendship for us. The never-ending Fussball games, the la-Z-boy recliners, their love for pizzas and their endless shenanigans just summed how perfect Joey and Chandler were as friends. Never afraid to speak their mind in front of the other, these two gave us the original #FriendshipGoals.

3. Batman & Robin

The crime-fighting duo of Gotham have been my superheroes while I was growing up. With a  relationship based on trust, respect and fighting for a common cause, Batman & Robin made the streets of Gotham a safer place and how.

4. Tintin & Captain Haddock

Billions of Blue Blistering Barnacles!  I think I spent my entire childhood just shouting this on the top of my lungs. From finding Red Rackham’s Treasure to unlocking the Secrets of the Unicorn, these two have gone on adventures that one can only dream of and God, did I dream!

5. Frodo Baggins & Samwise Gamgee

Hailing from the beautiful land of the Shire, Frodo and Sam embarked on a journey together that you and I couldn’t even dream about. Destroying the ‘one ring to rule them all’ is not an easy task and when you have to tackle orcs, Nazguls and Sauron, then you need to have your best friend by your side. And that’s exactly what Frodo had with Sam. Even when Frodo doubted the integrity of his friend, Sam never flinched and risked his life on numerous occasions, in order to help him.

6. Han Solo and Chewbacca

Ever since I watched the last Star Wars movie, I often lie awake at night and wonder how Chewie must be getting on without his best friend (if you didn’t know Han Solo died, then you’re on the wrong page, my friend). These two had a dynamic that was, literally, otherworldly. They stuck together through thick and thin and even knocked some sense into the other one when necessary.

Just like these iconic duos, there’s another pair that has stood the test of time – the wholesome combination of Quaker Oats+Milk. While one gives us a good mix of fiber and complex carbs, the other adds on the power of calcium. No wonder, both of them together form a power-packed meal that can sustain us for hours. And guess what, to celebrate this wondrous duo, another iconic duo from the Indian radio is going to take the stage. Yes, you guessed it right, it will be the rocking team of RJ Naved from Radio Mirchi & RJ Raunac from Red FM.

For the first time in the history of Indian radio, RJs of two different radio stations are going to come together to host a four-hour-long talk show. Together they will kick start Quaker’s ‘Power Of Two’ Campaign that talks about the goodness of Quaker Oats+Milk. What’s more, joining them will be master blaster Sachin Tendulkar himself who will be giving valuable insights about how the right nutrition has helped him in his career and his life.

So don’t forget to tune in to Red FM or Radio Mirchi on October 27th from 7 AM to 11 AM #QuakerOatober
