This week’s release is Abominable,by DreamWorks Animation, the same studio that gave us How To Train Your Dragon. The movie the story of an adorable Yeti lost in the city far from home. He ends up befriending 3 human kids, who help him find his way back home, all while staying ahead of an evil zoologist and a wealthy businessman, who are intent on capturing a Yeti.

#Abominable isn’t the new HTTYD, but it doesn’t really have to be either; it’s charming, fun, and heartfelt in its own unique ways, and looks GORGEOUS to boot. Stumbles in one or two spots, but manages to hold together pretty well overall. Full review tomorrow. #AbominableMovie

Abominable was a surprisngly sweet exploration of grief with a beautiful musical score and stunning animation. The first 25 minutes are a little rocky and the humor is scattershot at best, but see this film if you at least wanna feel some feelings 😁#AbominableMovie pic.twitter.com/O3BGLcqEde

#AbominableMovie will work well for kids. It’s colorful, funny and the voice cast is solid. Unfortunately, it doesn’t do much to stand out for anyone else. Everything about it is just “good enough.” It tries to balance humor with heart and it never quite works. It’s still cute. pic.twitter.com/ilp53SmiwN

Now, #Abominable is a different story! I absolutely loved the film: boasting beautiful visuals, a sweet cast of characters and of course, Everest. And while the plot can be linear, it’s the heart the film has and the focus on its Shanghai culture that makes me love it so much.
