In its first mainstream movie on Indian football, Bollywood is going to give viewers a biopic on Syed Abdul Rahim - the manager and coach of the national team from 1952-1962.
Named Maidaan, the movie will have Ajay Devgn playing the role of Syed Abdul Rahim.
While there is not a lot of information about the movie, yet, it is known that it will be directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma (Badhaai Ho fame) and will star National Award winner Keerthy Suresh and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh in other titular roles.

The movie will be a throwback to the time when the Indian football team won Asian Games 2 times in 1951 and 1962. Those are India's only 2 Asian Games titles in the sport, yet.
