In its first mainstream movie on Indian football, Bollywood is going to give viewers a biopic on Syed Abdul Rahim – the manager and coach of the national team from 1952-1962.
Named Maidaan, the movie will have Ajay Devgn playing the role of Syed Abdul Rahim.

The movie will be a throwback to the time when the Indian football team won Asian Games 2 times in 1951 and 1962. Those are India’s only 2 Asian Games titles in the sport, yet.
