The first episode of season 8 of Game of Thrones premiered today. So again, if you haven’t watched it, do not proceed.

Anyhow, for those whose have watched it – HOLY SHIT, GUYS! That was some insane stuff happening there, right? So we decided to make a list of the best scenes from today’s episodes.

1. The dragons have arrived in Winterfell.

The Northerners don’t trust outsiders. So naturally, they don’t like Dany or the fact that Jon bent his knee to her. But she is the queen and she has two large dragons, who can instil fear in the hearts of the bravest men.

Which is exactly what they did here.

2. Jon reunites with Bran in another episode of ‘the Stark Family reunion’.

Starks reuniting is always a sight for sore eyes. Here, Jon sees Bran for the first time after years of believing that he was dead. And his reaction is just so pure. Jon’s not Bran’s. Bran has different ideas.

3. Sansa and Daenerys throw some serious shade at each other.

Sansa doesn’t like Dany, one bit. And she’s isn’t wrong. She had stored enough food for the army they had.

But the addition of the Unsullied, the Dothraki and the prospect of a Lannister army at the gates of Winterfell can make anyone uncomfortable.

4. The reunion, we’ve all been waiting for – Arya and Jon!

And it was beautiful and sobering. The realisation that the last time they had seen each other, they were both innocent people with far too many battles to fight can cast a heavy shadow on the happy affair.

But the fact is that they are together now. And that’s all that matters for now.

5. Tyrion and Sansa meet and speak about Joffrey’s death.

One could see that Sansa liked Tyrion more than she likes any other Lannister. Bit low of a bar, isn’t it? But can we honestly blame her?

Some much has changed since they last met. Tyrion has become less sceptical of the world, while Sansa grows weary of it with each passing day!

Anyhow, the former husband-wife speak about Joffrey’s wedding and you could tell they both enjoyed it. In fact, if Tyrion wasn’t with Dany, I’m pretty sure he would have been a bit more welcome.

6. Theon rescues Yara from Euron’s ship and finally finds redemption.

This is a simple throwback to the time when Yara had ventured into Winterfell to rescue Theon from Ramsay Bolton. We know that didn’t work.

But this did and it did so well. The whole scene is quite emotional as well with both the characters knowing what they must do next.

7. Ser Davos, Lord Varys and Tyrion discuss ‘rishta’ between Jon Snow and Daenerys.

Although it would be a wise choice, politically speaking, it could also further complicate things.

Besides, us desi people, we know that look. It’s all your neighbours watching from their little windows while you talk to a girl, any girl!

8. Jon finally rides Rhaegal. And from the looks of it, Rhaegal knows Jon is a Targaryen.

The showrunners didn’t waste too much time building it up. So they jumped right to it.

Turns out anybody could ride a dragon as long as you are on good terms with their mom. Jon if special of course, because of his birth. And we have a feeling, Rhaegal know that too.

9. Samwell Tarly meets Daenerys and finds out that she killed his father and brother.

The scene is nothing unique but Jon Bradley’s acting just gets it on this list. It was very subtle and controlled and it hits you right in the feels.

10. Sam tells Jon about his true parentage and the claim to the Iron Throne

Jon had to know. So it was only a matter of fact. What really troubles me though is that he was worried about everything else except the part where he slept with his own aunt.

He didn’t even bring it up, like even once. Maybe he truly embraces the whole Targaryen incest thing.

11. The Night King is close and sends a chilling message to the living.

Even though the boy was barely known by us, we still liked him for the brief scene he was a part of. He was just innocent. So in typical GoT fashion, he was the first to die this season.

And from the looks of it, he died a very painful death and those limbs suggest that everyone around him suffered from the same fate. BTW, for those who don’t remember, that was the symbol from the ‘Fist of the First Men’.

12. Jaime and Bran’s reunion was always going to be a bit weird but we had long awaited it.

Well, Jaime did push him from a tower and started the entire conflict between the Lannisters and the Starks. But he is a different man now and has literally come a long way from home to keep his word of fighting for the living.

So it will be intersting to see what they have to say to each other.

We should all probably take a moment first. This episode was good and had so many moments; all of which we have been wanting to see for such a long time. So let it all sink in.
