Curiosity kills the cat, binge watching kills curiosity. If at the end of an episode, you hate that feeling of wanting more, binge watching is the way to go.

If you thought TV was an idiot box, you’re absolutely right! Streaming is the new ice cream, and you can have as many scoops as you want. Here’s why I feel binge watching should officially be proclaimed as the new way of life:

1. We hate cliffhangers

You know that feeling you get in your tummy, every time the episode ends, leaving you wanting more? Or worse, the episode ends right before the climax. Yup! It sucks. Hence, binge watching!

2. No breaks

Apart from the thrill of watching GoT, if there’s one thing that’ll connect TV audiences around the world, it has to be the feeling of wanting to punch someone when an ad arrives just before the suspense is about to unravel. Binge watching only stops when you want it to stop.

3. Cuts out the stress

Just broke up with your girlfriend/boyfriend? Feeling stressed or angry? Confront your stress by escaping it. Cut off from the world by immersing yourself in hours of binge therapy. Who knows, you might actually find a new crush!

 4. What just happened? What just happened? WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

You don’t need to obsess over what happened in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Season 8 Episode 3 after the 3rd break when Rachel tells Ross that she’s pregnant. Move on guys, move on to a new show!

5. You have something to do on a Friday night.

We’ve all been there. Your calls remain unanswered, friends are busy at work or at weddings, or you’re just plain broke. But binge watching doesn’t care about your social status or your wallet… It always has time for you.

6. Save up on money.

This one’s my favourite! Movies, clubbing, drinks, dinner… a whole lot of fun. Until the bill arrives. So how about you park your ass at home, binge watch and save up on all that money?

7. With great power comes great responsibility.

You can watch whatever you want, for as long as you want, without breaks and ta daaa… you’ll find yourself at a point where people are talking about the same TV shows you were watching. That’s where all your binging, the sleepless nights of joy, will pay up and you shall emerge victorious.

And that day, my friends, you would’ve achieved Zen!
