Boman Irani has been roped in to play the role of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Kailash Satyarthi in a film titled, Jhalki.
Confirming the news, Mumbai Mirror has quoted the 57-year old actor.
“It’s a film about a little girl looking for her brother who is missing, while working as a child labourer. I canned my portions in a few days. Kailash Satyarthi is a person every Indian should be in awe of. I shot at Mirzapur, it was 47 degrees. It’s a wonderful realisation to go there and understand the problems people in different parts of the country go through,” Boman told the tabloid.
Child labour activist Kailash Satyarthi was felicitated with the prestigious award in the year 2014, along with Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai. He is also a child’s right and education advocate who had founded the Bachpan Bachao Andolan in 1980 and worked towards protecting the rights of more than 83,000 children from 144 countries.
The film Jhalki is reportedly being directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Brahmanand Singh.
