The part where Sunny Deol jumps out of a foxhole and blows up ten tanks singlehandedly. And when a tank’s about to blow him to bits, the tank itself gets blown to bits by Jackie Shroff. And the soundtrack… Epic.

1. Border

2. Namastey London

The part where Akshay Kumar goes super patriotic and scores a giant win for India against a bunch of pretentious Firangs. “Saarey jahan se accha…”

3. Baazigar

The part where Shahrukh Khan unleashes a ton of swag and goes “Haar ke bhi jeetney waley go Baazigar kehtey hain.”

4. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

The part where Simran (Kajol) runs beside a train and finally catches Raj’s (Shahrukh Khan) hand. This immortal scene has now been immortalized as the “DDLJ Moment.”

5. Lakshya

The part where Hrithik Roshan finally hoists the Tri-Colour on the mountain. The surge of patriotism you get when you see that flag is unbeatable. Amitabh Bachchan’s reaction is perfect. And priceless.

6. Taare Zameen Par

The part where Ishaan (Darsheel Safary) finally realizes his potential and shows his painting to his mentor and friend, Nikunj (Aamir Khan). This one is real tear-jerker. And the lyrics for the background song are freaking amazing.

7. Black

The part where Rani Mukherjee finally gets her degree and visits her teacher, played by Amitabh Bachchan. No words are spoken in that scene and it still manages to bring tears to your eyes.

8. Gangs of Wasseypur

The part where Faizal (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) corners Ramadheer Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia) and brutally kills him. Why does this scene win so much? It wins because of gore, violence and an incredible dubstep background score.

9. Munnabhai M.B.B.S

The part where Munna (Sanjay Dutt) tries to save Zaheer (jimmy Shergill) but fails. The hopelessness of this scene is what make it so incredibly crushing. Jimmy Shergill is absolutely brilliant.

10. Lagaan

The part where Bhuvan (Aamir Khan) hits a six on the last ball to win the game for the villagers. You can’t help but marvel how a movie created the tension of a Cricket World Cup so effortlessly.

11. Damini

The part where Sunny Deol tells Amrish Puri about his “dhai kilo ka haath.” No list of epic Bollywood scenes is complete without this.
