Spoilers ahead if you’re yet to catch up on the previous 6 seasons.

Game of Thrones might have started as just another TV show on HBO but over the years, the show has become a cultural icon.

One of the most watched TV shows in the world, it has fans eagerly waiting for the premiere of season 7 in July this year. Based on George R. R. Martin’s book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, the show is set to conclude in just 13 more episodes but given the amount of stories that are still unfinished, we’re hoping that each of these 13 episodes (which are going to be spread over 2 seasons) will be simply outstanding.

A show like this has fans guessing the story lines ahead of the episodes and since they are not following the books anymore, there is a lot of speculation around the primary characters.

We found these 10 popular fan theories on the internet which seemed quite legit but as we all know, no one can ever be certain in the world of Game of Thrones.

1. Arya will kill Littlefinger

At the end of the last season, Arya killed Walder Frey and it was one of the most brutal deaths of the season. As per this reddit theory and these pictures of the Entertainment Weekly shoot, Arya possesses Littlefinger‘s dagger, the one that was used in Bran Stark‘s assassination attempt back in season 1.

Arya is back in Westeros and this season, there is a high probability that we’ll witness the reunion of the Stark siblings and it would be really satisfying to watch Arya kill Petyr Baelish.

2. Cersei will die & Jaime will be the one to kill her

Cersei has turned into the Mad Queen and has declared herself to be the ruler of the seven kingdoms. She was always evil but the only thing that helped her be in touch with her humane side was her love for her children. Since all her kids are dead, there’s nothing that’s stopping her from going crazy.

The prophecy states that she will be killed by her younger brother & Jaime is one of her younger brothers. Jaime already carries the title of being Kingslayer and even when he killed the Mad King, he did so to save the people from his wrath.

As per this theory, there is a possibility that he will do that again.

3. Missandei is a faceless person

Daenerys‘ confidante Missandei has been with her for some seasons and until now, we have only seen her supporting Dany. Arya‘s story arc for the past couple of seasons has been around the faceless men and this theory suggests that Missandei is a part of the same tribe as well. She is a master of languages and has always carried a composed demeanour. But the question why is the House of Black & White interested in Dany‘s war?

4. Jon Snow and Daenerys will join forces

Dany‘s ships are landing at Westeros and thanks to these leaked pictures, we know that Jon and Dany are going to meet. Jon is already aware of the White Walker crisis and Dany knows nothing about it. But their common friend, Tyrion Lannister, will help in joining the two forces against the White Walker threat.

5. Bran, the Builder & Bran Stark are actually the same people

Bran, the builder, was the founder of House Stark. He was the one who made ‘The Wall’ for protection against the White Walkers. Bran Stark, as we all know by now, has the power to travel back in time time and the theory suggests is that he was actually the one who built the Wall by travelling back in time. Given Bran Stark‘s unexplained powers, this sounds like a legit possibility.

6. Jorah Mormot will find a cure for Greyscale

While crossing Old Valyria, Jorah & Tyrion were attacked by Stone Men and in the process, Jorah caught Greyscale. According to the show, this is a death sentence. In the previous season, Dany ordered Jorah to find a cure and there is no way that he will disobey her. As per this theory, Jorah will find the masked woman in Qarth from season 2, who had supernatural powers and there is a possibility that she will know the cure for Greyscale.

7. Samwell Tarly will solve the White Walker problem

Samwell Tarly‘s time at the Citadel will probably yield its results by the end of this season. There are theories suggesting that he will discover a way to win the war against the White Walker army. With all the time he’s spending at the Citadel‘s library, he will probably get to know about Jon Snow‘s parentage as well.

8. White Walkers will cross The Wall

The Wall has been an essential character in the show since the beginning and as per this theory, it will fall this season and most likely, Bran will be responsible for it. In the previous season, Bran was marked by the Night King that helped the White Walkers locate him. If they could find him at the cave, there is a possibility that they can follow him through the Wall.

9. Jaime Lannister is Azor Ahai

The popular theory suggests that Jon Snow is ‘The Prince that was promised’ by the Lord of Light and the same was suggested by Melisandre when she brought him back to life. But there is another theory suggesting that the promised prince is Jaime Lannister. As per this theory, the Valyrian words for lord and light are very similar to gold hand and Jaime‘s one hand is made of gold. If this is true, then Jaime will have an important role in the remaining two seasons.

10. Gendry will come back

Gendry, the bastard son of King Robert Baratheon, was last seen rowing a boat from Dragonstone and that was a long time ago. His return has been anticipated for the past couple of seasons. As per this theory, his skilled techniques of making swords will come into play. And there is a chance that he will operate with Samwell to make Drangonglass weapons.
