Even if you’ve missed the latest episode of Game of Thrones, and avoided the spoilers (yay you), you’d still have heard of the unexpected mystery guest that made its way to Winterfell – a Starbucks coffee cup.

While we understood the need for a steaming cup of coffee in the middle of the cold winter winds and even colder vibes that Sansa and Daenerys seemed to share, people just couldn’t let the cup be.

Now Game of Thrones has officially tweeted a response over the unfortunate ‘drink’ incident.

And Starbucks has responded in style as well.

According to Forbes, executive producer Bernie Caulfield also apologized for the incident.

We’re sorry! Westeros was the first place to actually, you know, have Starbucks. If that’s the worst thing they’re (viewers) finding (with the episode), then we’re in good shape.

GoT art director Hauke Richter also took responsibility for the error, in an email to Variety.

Things can get forgotten on set. [The coffee cup error has been] so blown out of proportion [because] it has not happened with ‘Thrones’ so far.

But as eagle-eyed users would like to point out, this is certainly not the first time something like this has happened on Game of Thrones.

Wonder what drink Jaime had originally ordered? It’s ‘bean’ an interesting turn of events for sure.
