It’s no secret the last season of Game of Thrones was a let-down. Everyone watched it, almost everyone dissed it, and now, after the dust has settled, there’s another thorn in the side of GoT fans.

According to Mashable, HBO submitted some of the worst rated episodes of the fantasy show to the 2019 Emmys, and it’s pissing people off.

Tenor

The 2019 Emmy nomination ballots were announced recently, and The Long Night, The Last of the Starks, and The Iron Throne have been submitted for Best Directing. The finale The Iron Throne, directed by showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, has also been nominated for Best Writing.

These episodes had the lowest ratings in the show’s entire history, which is why fans are furious.  Predictably enough, the internet had words.

Instead of submitting episodes like Winterfell or A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which were arguably better, HBO sent these. But hey, knowing how TV awards work, maybe they’ll still cop a win. Who know?
