As per mandate, China grants licence to only 34 foreign movies in a year with a screening restriction of a month. However, the country made some changes ahead of the release of Aamir Khan’s Dangal and increased the number of Indian films to be screened from 2 to 4.
With the earnings of over USD 117 million at the box office, Dangal smashed all records and also became the first top-grossing non-Hollywood film in China. It even led the country to extend the screening of the film till July.
But, this isn’t all.
Now, according to a report filed by Business Today, the most sensational Indian film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is all set to be screened around 6,000 theatres in China soon.
It’ll be interesting to see who wins the head-to-head battle between Dangal and Baahubali 2, as the SS Rajamouli directorial film has already crossed Rs 1,600 crore mark worldwide and Aamir Khan’s film still has a month to pull it off in China.
