Social media was taken by a buzz as soon as the news of Veteran actor Anupam Kher being roped in for the film adaptation of Sanjay Baru’s controversial book ‘The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh’, broke on the internet.

Taking the excitement to another level, the 62-year-old-actor took to Twitter to share the first poster of the film, a day later.

It was all fine, until censor board chief, Pahlaj Nihalani had a suggestion to give.

The Times Of India has quoted the CBFC chief as saying, “The makers of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, producer Sunil Bohra, would have to get an NOC from Manmohan Singhji, Sonia Gandhiji and all the other real-life politicians who are part of the narrative. This rule applies without fail. There are no exceptions,” Nihalani said.

Pahlaj Nahlani’s tenure as the CBFC chief is reportedly getting over in January, 2018. And the film produced by Sunil Bohra is slated to release in December, same year.

As per early reports, the research on the film directed by debutant filmmaker, Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, is already over and the rest of the cast is yet to be decided.
