Hi, guys. In today’s news, we’re reporting about a woman calling out the inherent sexism in the entertainment industry, because it’s 2018, but that shit still exists.
Hollywood actor Natalie Portman and director Ron Howard presented the Best Director award at the Golden Globe Awards held recently.
And, as you can probably guess, there was not a single woman on the list of nominees. So, Natalie Portman did this.
Ron Howard: “We are honored … to be here to present the award for best director.”Natalie Portman, done with this shit: “And here are the all-male nominees.” 🔥 pic.twitter.com/8JboypiADo— David Mack (@davidmackau) January 8, 2018
And people were ALL for it.

Me: “Sucks to follow Oprah with such a trash category.”Natalie Portman: Hold my drink.— Chanel 🌹 (@channelno05) January 8, 2018
tonight my boyfriend and i are going to roleplay as Natalie Portman and the ashamed look on every Best Director nominee— Sam H. Escobar 👻 (@myhairisblue) January 8, 2018
I gotta say that what Natalie Portman did by adding the word “male” to the introduction for best director took some serious guts. Did you see the awkward looks? That’s the face of change.— Melissa Silverstein (@melsil) January 8, 2018
Me and my friends just bawled our eyes out at Oprah’s speech. Then Natalie Portman was like HOLD MY BEER. #theallmalenominees— JenHatmaker (@JenHatmaker) January 8, 2018
About time, people. About time.
