On Friday evening, actor Deepika Padukone was papped leaving Luv Ranjan’s house in Mumbai, along with Ranbir Kapoor.
The pictures added to the rumours that Deepika is indeed a part of a Luv Ranjan film. According to early reports by Mumbai Mirror, the film also stars Ajay Devgn in the lead of this action thriller.
Due to the latest photos, it is being speculated that the announcement might soon take place.
Last year in October, Luv Ranjan was accused of sexual harassment amid the #MeToo movement. The woman accused him of asking inappropriate questions during Pyaar Ka Punchnama auditions in 2010.
Now as the early reports hint that Deepika might be working with Ranjan, netizens have taken to Twitter. The hashtag #NotMyDeepika is trending as Deepika’s fans are expressing their disappointment.
#notmydeepika When you work with an abuser, you not only nullify the attempts of the survivors to finally achieve some justice, you also stain your own legacy as well. You’ll lose respect and credentials as an artist @deepikapadukone Don’t do this.

It’s refreshing to see a fandom in India that actually holds their idol accountable. I really really hope that she isn’t working with him. #notmydeepika

I really admire you @deepikapadukone ,but I empathize with the victims and this is not right #Notmydeepika
Being the top actress of your country you have many people looking upto you, it is YOUR responsibility to set the right example. Are you even aware of how you are gonna promote someone who has sexually harassed other women by working in his film? #NotMyDeepika

Well #DeepikaPadukone got an amazing fan base, all so wise. They are really not like other celebrity’s fans. They like and support her but not blindly and that’s how fans are supposed to be. Shame on those fans who abuse someone for not liking who they do. #notmydeepika

#notmydeepika Is not an avenue for anyone to abuse, shade or poo on Deepika and her work. It’s a statement we are making to hold our idol to the standards we expect of her and to show solidarity towards the #MeToo victims. There’s no ‘agenda’ here. So if you do, buzz off.

I refuse to believe that she signed this or is thinking whether to do it or not. We all know Deepika. This is not something she would do. #notmydeepika

A Twitter account detailed all the times Deepika stood up for the #MeToo movement- from The Bollywood Roundtable 2018, to when her NGO strictly complied to their zero tolerance of sexual harassment policy.

A source reported to Bollywood Hungama,
In spite of two solid male stars, Ranjan’s film has a terrific role for the female lead. Deepika is the first choice and there’s no reason why she would turn down a plum role.
Official confirmation of the report is awaited.
