After much controversy around its title and various allegations on factual inaccuracies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat is now officially set to release on January 25th, 2018 after the CBFC cleared it with a U/A certificate.

However, the movie will be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Padman that also releases on the same date.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the producers of the movie, Viacom 18, were busy at work to get the film out in the next 18-odd days.

Ever since it began filming, the film has been surrounded by all sorts of controversies which made members of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena attack the crew and also vandalize the sets.

After a lot of discussions, CBFC had invited Rajasthan-based professors to review the film but later CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi had clarified that the role of the special panel was for “advisory purpose only”.

Well, now that the movie has crossed all barriers, we can’t wait to see it on the big screen.
