Superstar Salman Khan is known for his generosity and, in yet another great example, he has got 3,000 toilets rebuilt in a Mumbai slum. This is part of the actor’s collaboration with the open defecation-free campaign of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in the city.

The actor visited Aarey Colony near Goregaon’s Film City in Mumbai to spread awareness about hygiene and sanitation, accompanied by municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta and a few BMC senior officials.

“This is just the beginning. We have rebuilt toilets in more than 3,000 houses and given them water connections… We are taking care of it. We will try to get permissions to build toilets in the houses if they have space for it,” Salman said.

Mehta said he is happy that the Dabangg star has come forward to urge people to use toilets.

“People listen to him and take it seriously. The Coporation is ready to do its best. I appeal to everyone to use toilets,” he added.

As a part of the campaign, Salman has already donated five mobile toilets to the BMC through his ‘Being Human’ foundation.

Currently, the 51-year-old actor is busy promoting Kabir Khan’s directorial film Tubelight, which is set to release on June 25.
