Despite the apparent world of glitz and glamour that Bollywood presents itself to be, not every actor achieves equal success.
Like actor Savi Sidhu, who once appeared in movies like Black Friday and Patiala House, but is today working as a security guard to support himself financially, as he revealed in an interview with Film Companion.
Savi Sidhu has appeared in multiple movies like Black Friday, Gulaal, Patiala House, Bewakoofiyan, playing pivotal and side characters. However currently he's working as a security guard in a building in Malad.
Born and raised in Lucknow, Savi got his first break in Anurag Kashyap's unreleased Paanch. He continued to work in various movies, but sadly his health deteriorated and he had to leave the world of movies behind. However, tragedy truly struck when he lost his wife and several family members in the span of few years.
Meri financial aur health problems badh gai toh kaam khatam ho gaya. Sabse tough phase tha, when I lost my wife. Agle saal I lost my father, then mother. Dheere dheere akela hota ja raha tha, aur akela hote hote I was all alone.
He talked about the struggles of a blue-collar job such as his, but he still misses movies. Today, he is not in a condition to even watch a movie, let alone approach directors or producers for a role. Which is why he continues to focus on his current job, in the hopes of elevating his financial condition, and once again becoming a part of the movie business.
Issi umeed ke saath kaam kar raha hun ki thoda bank balance banega, producers-directors ko milunga. And I am hopeful ki mujhe role denge. Mujhe umeed hai ki unko milunga toh they will not say no.
Hopefully his current struggles help him achieve his dream of once again appearing on the silver screen.
