Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu opened up about her experiences while trying her luck in the film industry. She was an outsider, but that wasn’t the main problem. It was much more deep rooted than dealing with nepotism.
The 29-year-old actress shared her story with ‘Humans Of Bombay’ on Facebook to talk about being labelled as a bad omen to films she was a part of.
The PINK actress not only opened up about how actors often refused to work with her just because she was not an ‘A-lister’ in the film industry but also went on to express despite the hurdles how she kept her focus on working on her craft and getting better each day.
Here’s what she wrote in a hard-hitting post:
Before stepping into Bollywood, the model-turned-actress did a few South Indian films like Mogudu, Veera, Arrambam and Sahasam.
Taapsee also featured in a video song Tum Ho Toh Lagta Hai opposite Saqib Saleem. It was a song sung by Shaan and music was composed by Amaan Malik.
And even though she did films like Chashme Badoor and Baby, it was only her character Meenal Arora in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer film Pink that got her noticed.
She also was felicitated by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee along with the entire team of Pink.
After Pink, Taapsee Pannu was seen in Running Shaadi and in a special appearance in The Ghazi Attack.
And now, her film Naam Shabana that also features Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee in pivotal roles, is all set to hit theatres on March 31.
