After an eight year long debate, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill was passed by the Indian Parliament on Wednesday, giving hope for a simplified taxation structure. One of the most significant tax reforms in the history of the country, the proposed bill is expected to boost the nation’s GDP by 2 percent and simplify India’s tax structure.
As the legislation trended on Twitter, many big names from Bollywood also took to social media to welcome the new tax law.
SRK and Amitabh Bachchan didn’t seem to have much knowledge about the bill but gracefully welcomed it.
Notwithstanding my limited knowledge of Financial stuff ,the #GSTBill is an awesome advancement for our country’s potential. Congrats to us
