Contrary to rumours suggesting that Anushka Shetty lost a role in a multilingual project because she couldn’t lose weight, it has now emerged that the Baahubali actress was never finalised for the film in the first place, reported Zee News.
After the success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, it was being believed that Anushka was all set to be paired with her Baahubali co-star, Prabhas in ‘Saaho’.
According to a report in India.com, a source said, “The shooting is not happening at this moment; it’ll only start from this month end. These reports about Anushka are false because she’s not yet confirmed. The makers are yet to take a call. They’ll take a decision soon. [Also], everyone is speculating that Anushka is finalised for Saaho because the same banner is producing a film called Bhagmati, which stars Anushka in the lead.”
“It’s not like she’s overweight or anything. She’s looking good and she’s acting in one more film [Bhagmati]. She gained weight for Size Zero, but that was two years ago, and after that, she did Baahubali and she looked very much in shape,” the source added.
Ever since the commencement of the project, the makers seem to have a problem with finalising the heroine. Earlier, Bollywood actors like Katrina Kaif, Shraddha Kapoor, Disha Patani, Sonam Kapoor and Pooja Hegde were approached for the role.
Directed by Sujeeth, ‘Saaho’ will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malyalam in 2018.
