E3, one of the year’s biggest gaming expos, has come and gone but we are still reeling from all the announcements, demos, trailers and gameplay reels of new and upcoming games we saw at the show. Needless to say, a lot of very exciting and amazing games are making their way to consoles, PC and your mobile phone this year or early next year. Here are a few that stand out from the rest and ones that we really cannot wait to play! Why can’t time move faster?

1. Blair Witch

The Blair Witch Project Game is based on the classic indie film (or potentially the reboot) of the same name. The game is being developed by Bloober, the people responsible for Layers Of Fear, one of the scariest games in recent times. It’s not a retelling of the film but it uses the existing lore to frame a new narrative around it. From the trailer, it looks like it’s going to be one terrifying experience. Don’t play it in the dark!

2. Bleeding Edge

Bleeding Edge is one of the first games being released by the studio Ninja Theory after being acquired by Microsoft. It’s basically a 4v4 melee combat game that seems determined never to let you catch your breath. The game looks quite chaotic, but the game design and the colourful graphics tie everything up very nicely.

3. Death Loop

Who doesn’t like time loops? Only in this game, two assassins are stuck in it, and their only way to escape, or to keep the loop going, is to kill each other. But how is that even possible when the moment you die, you wake up to do it all over again. That is the premise of Death Loop. And in true Arkane Studios style, you will be able to choose how to approach situations with a variety of powers and playstyles.

4. Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion, the third part in the Watch Dogs franchise, is set in a dystopian version of London. In the game, London has fallen into a technological nightmare and the populace is being oppressed by a surveillance state. You will serve as part of the resistance. The most unique part about the game is that you have to build the resistance from scratch, and you can recruit and play as anybody in the game. Now that is something that will be awesome if executed properly.

5. Elden Ring

What do you get when the creator of the Dark Souls series, Hidetaka Miyazaki collaborates with George R. R. Martin, the man who gave us Game Of Thrones? You get an epic game called Elden Ring. Apparently, Miyazaki is directing the game and Martin was heavily involved in the story. The game might be going in a Witcher 3 style RPG direction. The story sees you take on various bosses to absorb their powers, and has been in development for three years.
