Domino’s is a household name today, pretty much all of us have had it at some point. Most of us keep the leftover seasonings to use for future purposes. However, a guy in Delhi named Rahul Arora, found live crawling insects in his oregano packets, the day after he had ordered the pizzas. The sachets had not even crossed their expiry date. He has posted a video on Facebook.
He had ordered a Domino’s pizza on 8th Sept from Domino’s Pizza, DLF City centre, MG Road outlet. Next day, he opened the leftover seasoning sachets to spread it on some bread and found insects in all the sachets! Naturally, he was disgusted and terrified at the same time. He has posted a video on Facebook of the insects and it’s pretty startling. He captioned it
#BEWARE! All lovers of Domino’s Pizza India’s oregano seasoning, like myself. This is what they make you eat.
The pizza chain has since apologized on his Facebook post:
As reported by NDTV, Mr. Arora claims he later received a call from the pizza joint offering to ‘replace his order’ to which he replied ” It’s not a late home delivery complaint. We fell ill on consuming their contaminated food. The issue should not be trivialised.”
In the comments of his Facebook post, Mr. Arora has said that he has filed a complaint with Department of Consumer Affairs and is waiting for their response. He also told NDTV that “I wonder what would have happened if this happened in the US. The chalta hai attitude towards Indian consumers should end,” he adds.
We reached out to Domino’s for a statement and this was their spokesperson’s response:
