Living with a partner is a great feeling, but it doesn’t feel so great if you are a light sleeper and your partner is a snorer. In fact, it can cause mental illness and dampen your relationship real bad.

According to a study, losing sleep can have an impact on the body’s ability to recover and fulfil biological functions like memory consolidation and metabolism regulation. It can also increase the risk of anxiety and the chances of suffering a stroke.

It is also noticed that if a person is suffering from lack of sleep is a common cause of several mental health ailments like ADHD, depression and anxiety.

A study by Queen’s University in Candada was also done on four couples where they analysed the effects of snoring on both the snorers and their partners when it came to hearing loss.

The results showed that snorers weren’t affected by the snoring sound and this is because the brain dampens respiratory interruptions during sleep. But, all of their partners did suffer from hearing loss especially in the ear that was exposed to snoring.

More than that, snoring can seriously have a negative impact on one’s relationship as it can trigger stress, inflammation, problems with communicating and even depression in the long term.

So, if your partner is complaining about the constant snoring, trust them, it is really afecting them more than you know.
