We love our parents and we know the lectures are all for our own good, but you'd agree that sometimes they say some really wacky shit to make us study. From emotional blackmail and direct comparison with relatives, to arguments that are so logically flawed, they'll fit right into a Rohit Shetty movie.
Here is my list of things parents say to make us study.
1. "Humari to beet gayi beta."
2. "Apna hi bhala karoge, humko kya?"
This one's right out of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum.
3. "Hamare ghar me hamesha se padhai ka maahaul raha hai! Bas ek tu hi..."
4. "Bas ye do saal padh lo, fir life bhar aaram."
Ohh, the lies!
5. "Bas ye chaar saal aur padh lo, fir life bhar aaram."
Not falling for that again!
6. "Pardadi ji ki aakhri ikchha thi ki tum IIT jao."
Sorry, I guess.
7. "Shaadi kaise hogi?"
Sabki ho jati hai.
8. *Watching terrorists on news* "Padh lo nahi to aise ban jaoge."
Too dramatic, Dad!
9. *Watching Rahul Gandhi on news* "Padh lo nahi to aise ban jaoge."
Okay, I'll give you that one.
10. "A/C isliye lagwaya taaki tum padh sako."
To apne room me kyun lagwaya?
11. "Cable isliye hataya taaki tum padh sako."
Heard about Internet?
12. "Ye ghar isliye liya taaki tum padh sako."
Market ke beech me?
13. "Car isliye nahi le rahe taaki tum padh sako."
