How would you react if all this while you thought your ex-boyfriend was dead and then years later you bump into him in a local restaurant?

Sounds like a twisted plot that has been poached right out of Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming serial, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not. It’s actually a true story.

Rachel from Australia found herself in this situation when she bumped into her ex-boyfriend who apparently “faked his own death”.

According to Mirror, the then 18-year-old Rachel started dating a Chef and everything was hunky-dory.

Tenor

But things changed when her boyfriend lost his job and borrowed thousands of pounds from her.

Even though he managed to pay some of the money back, he completely stopped repaying her and replying to her texts after their breakup.

So apparently Rachel was hearing from her friends that her ex BF’s furniture was going missing and he was in a rehab in Queensland.

After this, Rachel got a text from her ex’s mother saying that her son had passed away. Obviously when somebody tells you something so disturbing you don’t question it.

It sounds stupid in retrospect, but you don’t have any reason to question it. If I called you and told you my mum had died, you wouldn’t be like, ‘give me a death certificate’.

It took Rachel two years to get over the death of her ex-boyfriend. Before he made a reappearance at a local restaurant.

Rachel was obviously shocked. Before she could confront him, she was not allowed to enter the restaurent.

That same night, the ex’s mother got in touch with Rachel again and cursed her for “creating a scene” at the restaurant and getting her son fired.

We really don’t know what to say.
