You must have made atleast one resume, if not many, in these couple of decades of life that you have spent on this planet. For a job, right? But have you ever made a dating resume? Leave alone making one, I don’t remember even looking at one.
If you’re on the same page as I am, the story of this 21-year-old college student, Joey Adams, junior from the Michigan State University will leave you in splits.
A week ago, Adams found himself tagged in a Facebook post on the class FB group where a girl had placed an actual ad where she was looking for someone to take her roommate out on a formal date.
Ashley Harrington, who had posted the ad, told BuzzFeed News that she decided to take matters into her own hands as her roommate was too much of a busy bee.
Stealing this golden opportunity, Adam commented “I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT” along with a picture of his dating resume!
Here is a closer look at his resume just in case you are curious and in need of some inspiration.
This resume not only have his regular GPA, education and skills section but also gives a detailed description of how he spends his time. Also, listed down are his favourites and ‘moderately interesting’ things about him and that is exactly what made it a hilarious presentation. Me likey!
But the real questions come down to:
1. Why did he make a dating resume?
While speaking to Buzzfeed News, Adams said,
At the beginning of the semester, I was in one of the MSU cafeterias and saw this absolutely gorgeous girl. We started making small talk and I worked up the courage to ask her on a date. She asked if I had a dating résumé that she could look at, and when I said no (like any normal person would) she told me no. So afterward I decided to make one, so if it ever came up again I could use it in my favour.
Soon after Adams commented, another MSU student posted a screenshot of the post on Twitter and it went viral.

So, did the mysterious suitor shortlist Adams? Unfortunately, not. But on the bright side, Adams did get a lot of tweets from women who were definitely willing to date him.

A lot of girls have contacted me since. I’ve gotten a few texts asking me to other formals/wedding dates, so this wasn’t a lost cause. It definitely stinks that I won’t be going, but I put myself out there and made a lot of people laugh in the meantime. As Michael Scott once said, ‘You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.’
Adams also added.
