Be it having a perfect response for someone who disparaged India as a land of snake charmers in ‘Namastey London’ or someone who has stood firm about his devotion to the country, Akshay Kumar has won the hearts of many, not only in Bollywood, but also otherwise.
Now, when we face a dark dichotomy of people wanting to leave the country and people who criticise the ones wanting to leave, it is time to remind ourselves of the message in this old post by Akshay Kumar.
In a Facebook post from 2011, Akshay Kumar starts off with an apology for a negative post about a man who littered the road with a cigarette packet. Following which, he got out of his car and picked up the packet to set an example for that man and others around. He says in his post, ” If we all treated the streets of India with as much love as we do our homes & temples, we would have 5 star ratings on cleanliness rather than being known as one of the dirtiest cities in the world.”

Saying that he is not an angel himself and that people do make mistakes, he lets out an advice to us, ” don’t abuse India’s streets & maybe they wont abuse you!”
He ends his post with a sound and profound message. ” Don’t forget, let me know your bad habits. S ometimes writing about them helps you confront. And, consciously strive to better them. I cant help it i love my country, i just cant cant stand those who dont…”
It is time for us to be inspired by his post and take responsibility for our actions to better ourselves as human beings and in turn, strive to achieve a better country.
