If you are a non-vegetarian, I am sure you have licked your fingers clean after having this ever-so sumptuous dish - Beef! We totally love it and cannot do without it.
But of course, how can you expect the government to approve of something we love?
Suddenly realising the importance of protecting cattle, particularly cows, President Pranab Mukherjee has given his consent to the Maharashtra Animal Preservation (Amendment) Bill, 1995, which was first passed when the BJP Shiv-Sena was in power (1995).
Which in layman language means that you can now be jailed for having beef. Yes, you read that right. If you are caught sneaking in some beef, you will have to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000 with five years in prison.
