With women from around the world sharing body positive photographs on the Internet, we are changing how the world sees a healthy body image, one photo at a time.

This time, this bold and beautiful 19-year-old woman from New Brunswick, Canada, shared her photo on a beach, posing in a bikini. What makes it different is that she chose to proudly exhibit what the society perceives as flaws in the picture.

Isa-Bella has a medical condition called Parkes Weber Syndrome because of which her right leg remains swollen. However, this brave heart does not let that define her. The 19-year-old even won a beauty pageant in her hometown last month.

Talking about her condition in an interview with The Telegraph, she said, “The lymphatic fluid in my body goes into my leg and because the system doesn’t work properly it doesn’t go back, so it stays there and swells my leg.”

“My condition doesn’t define me and there’s no way I would let it stop me from wearing a cute swimsuit or a cute dress. For me confidence is the most important part because when people see someone confident in their body – even with a disability – they don’t have pity but instead admiration. I think it’s important for people who have health issues to not only work on getting healthy but to work on loving yourself and accepting who you are,” she added.

Here, she talks about her condition in detail:

Isa-Bella feels that it’s important for people who have health issues to not only work on getting healthy, but to work on loving themselves and accepting who they are. We are proud of you, woman!
