Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Singapore and addressed the 37th Singapore Lecture at the Shangri-La-Hotel, where he talked about how Singapore’s success has been an inspiration to India.
Being his maiden trip to Singapore, Narendra Modi and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong went out to ‘Little India’, and indulged in a simple and sweet meal of vada and chai at the Komala Vilas restaurant. Gomathi, the owner of the restaurant, said she was glad the VVIPs were visiting her restaurant. Several people on Twitter were also impressed by the Singapore PM’s gesture.

It’s not often you see two people of such high stature dining in anything but the most sophisticated of places. Eating out at these quaint and simple kind of places sends a good message.
