Did you know that nearly half of the malnourished and underweight children in the world live in India? And that so many women in Indian villages die during childbirth just because their families don’t have the resources or knowledge to save them?

PATH, an international healthcare programme which works in India’s poorest communities to improve maternal and child health, has tied up with local village women, also called Ashas, to help bridge this gap. They not only provide help in child birth, but also educate them about maternal health and hygiene.

This video covers the wonderful initiative beautifully.
