The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will also deposit ₹5 lakh in a joint bank account of its Commissioner and the first born girl child. The interest will be utilised later for her education.

The mayor further added that only girl child born through natural delivery will be given this reward. He said:

Since a Caesarean-section birth can be induced any time, civic doctors have decided to reward only the girl child born through the natural process.
