It’s not always when fans get to see legends from three different fields on one platform, but when they do — it makes for a majestic, memorable sight. A jubiliant crowd at Kolkata’s Netaji Indoor Stadium was graced with the presence of two sports legends and India’s popular music maestro on Monday, as reported by NDTV .

Academy Award winner A R Rahman, shared the stage with Indian cricket’s prince Sourav Ganguly and the magical football legend Pele, and electrified the crowds. It was Pele’s birthday, and as A R Rahman sang the Happy Birthday jingle, Pele was overcome by emotions. After cutting the cake Pele said, “I thank God for this day.”

Pele cut a birthday cake shaped like the Jules Rimet trophy, and Rahman sang the Jai Ho song, in presence of Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee. A R Rahman has also composed the soundtrack for an upcoming movie about Pele’s life.
