At least 18 were killed, over 60 others were injured and many trapped as portion of an under- construction flyover collapsed on a congested road intersection near Girish Park in Kolkata, crushing people, vehicles and hawkers.
But the Hyderabad-based IVRCL Construction company responsible for the construction of the flyover was quick to divert blame for the shocking tragedy. The management said it was ‘nothing but an act of god’.
