After Om Puri, 2017 has claimed another Bollywood legend. This time, it’s veteran actor Vinod Khanna who passed away today at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer.

Khanna hadn’t been keeping well for the past few days. Amidst rumours of him suffering from cancer, a picture of him looking frail had emerged on social media.
However, the doctors treating him then had refuted claims of his ill-health and had said that he was responding positively to the treatment.

A star in his own right, Khanna was a staple of some of the biggest blockbusters in the 70s and the 80s.
Often starring alongside Amitabh Bachchan, he was a part of movies like Amar Akbar Anthony, Qurbani, Muqqadar Ka Sikandar and The Burning Train.

At the peak of his career, Vinod Khanna had quit Bollywood to become an Osho follower. However, he returned to the industry after 5 years and made a comeback with the film Insaaf.

He enjoyed a resurgence of sorts in the post-millennial era with movies like Wanted and Dabangg. He was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s 2015 film Dilwale alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

Rest in peace, sir. You’ll be missed.
