Strong protests erupted in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) against Pakistan on Wednesday.

This was over alleged discrimination in providing jobs to local youth.

The incident reportedly took place in Muzaffarabad town, where about 100 people from two student organisations – Jammu and Kashmir National Students Federation (JKNSF)and Jammu and Kashmir National Awami Party (JKNAP) – took to streets, condemning the oppressive rule of the Pakistani authorities and the local PoK government, reports ANI.

Slogans were raised demanding the creation of an independent Kashmir.

The demonstrators also raised anti-Pakistan slogans that led to a crackdown on the rally by the police.

The protesters carried placards which read “Kashmir Bachanay Nikley Hain, Aao Hamaray Saath Chalo“. After resorting to a heavy baton charge on the demonstrators, police arrested some of them.
