An army jawan from Darjeeling was arrested after two grenades were recovered from his possessions by the anti-hijacking squad at Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar airport on Monday.
The jawan, identified as Bhupal Mukhia, was to board a flight to Delhi when the explosives were found in his luggage during a routine X-Ray screening, reports Hindustan Times.
Mukhia has been detained for questioning at a local police station.
Mukhia has reportedly claimed that he was carrying grenades to cause blasts in rivers and catch fish.
