Two days after the Pulwama attack, an Army Major has lost his life in an IED blast near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to ANI, 31-year-old, Army Major Chitresh Singh Bisht- from the Corps of Engineers- was defusing a bomb planted by the terrorists.
The Major-rank army officer was killed while defusing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which had been planted by terrorists. The officer is from the Corps of Engineers. According to the reports, the IED was planted 1.5 kms inside the Line of Control in Rajouri district’s Nowshera sector.
According to News 18, a soldier has also reportedly been injured in the tragic incident. The blast took place after Home Minister, Rajnath Singh reviewed the security detail of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to India Today, Major Bisht was due to marry this year on 7 March. His father was preparing for his wedding, when he heard the heart-wrenching news of his son’s tragic death.
This has happened at a time while the nation is still mourning the loss of more than 40 CRPF jawaans.
