On Sunday, The Wire broke an investigative piece questioning transactions made by BJP President Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah’s firm. The story attracted a lot of traction on social media.

“There is absolutely no substance in the article. We reject all allegations against Jay Shah,” Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal stated in a press conference that very day.

Soon after, as noted by several Twitteratis, Rohini Singh, the journalist who penned down the controversial piece was being subjected to personal attacks on social media.

A troll army has been unleashed to target her

This is how BJP chose to expose her. Through words. What a comeback

.

Ironically, in 2011 Singh  had exposed Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law, Robert Vadra’s tie up with DLF. BJP, then in opposition, was quick in capitalizing on it for electoral gain.

After being slapped with a defamation case of Rs 100 crores, Singh has responded to the threats in a Facebook post and refused to back down.
