Uttar Pradesh government on Monday, July 20, decided to make Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan tax-free. The announcement came after UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav held a meeting with Bajrangi Bhaijaan director Kabir Khan.
According to NDTV , Kabir Khan had requested Yadav to make the movie tax-free.
Several movies like Tevar , Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho , Hamari Adhuri Kahani and Masaan were made tax free in the state this year . Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the latest film that has been declared tax free in UP.

During the meeting, Akhilesh Yadav told Khan about UP’s potential as a Bollywood shoot destination.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a film about a little Pakistani girl, who is left behind in India when she gets off the train near the Indo-Pak border inside Indian territory. Salman, who plays Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi also known as Bajrangi, comes across the girl and takes it upon himself to reunite her with her family in Pakistan.
