Home Minister Amit Shah's recent proclamation at the parliament to revoke Article 370 has gained quite a lot of attention and divided opinion in India. But a certain Congress Minister might have added a completely different element to it.
According to reports, Congress MP Manish Tewari received backlash after he referred to the erotic novel Fifty Shades Of Grey while addressing the Parliament about the Kashmir issue.
After Amit Shah asked Congress to clarify their stand on Article 370, Tewari responded,
There is an English book. Everything is not black and white. There are fifty shades of gray in between. Maybe the Home Minister was thinking something else. He didn't pay attention to what I said.
Twitter was sent into a tizzy after his statement.
Right now in Lok Sabha:@AmitShah: “Congress should clarify if they are for or against scrapping #Article370.”@ManishTewari: “There’s an English book, it’s not black and white, it’s 50 Shades Of Grey.”— Shiv Aroor (@ShivAroor) August 6, 2019
Manish Tewari thinks that 50 Shades Of Grey is a book about issues that are undefined or unclear. These are the same who think American Pie is a movie about food.— Sagar (@sagarcasm) August 6, 2019
People invoke The Gita, Quran, Bible, Granth etc— Gita S. Kapoor 🇮🇳 (@GitaSKapoor) August 6, 2019
They may invoke mantras, chants, prayers too
But @ManishTewari invokes a porn novel - 50 shades of grey.
#ShameOnCongress Manish Tiwari, Congress says "Not every issue is black and white, there is a book that says 50 shades of grey." Hehe! He says this in reply to Home Minister over Article 370 revocation. (google 50 shades of grey pleej) pic.twitter.com/mXJK3Nj5G4— RaHuL ShaRma ABVP (@iRahulABVP) August 6, 2019
Looks like Congressmen are losing it,not only elections but their brains too! How can Manish Tiwari quote a porn book in context of #Article370 ,never thought he can be so daft!— Lotus (@HittsVora) August 6, 2019
