India faced the worst heat-wave this year and with a severe heat wave in May, the temperature hit the highest recorded level since 1995. The death rates by early June rose to over 2,500. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where more than 1735 people died, were the most affected areas. West Bengal and Odisha were the other two affected regions. New Delhi recorded 44.5 degrees.
