A moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted Assam and the rest of North East India at around 6.35 am on June 28.
The epicentre was located near Kokrajhar at a depth of 10 kilometres. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
Tremors were felt in Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and eastern part of India.
