Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on his wall about the Safety Check and donations that Facebook had specially launched to help facilitate rescue and relief in Nepal. The Safety Check allows one to mark themselves as safe if they are present in the Nepal quake-hit region.
Over 7 million people marked themselves safe and their friends and family were notified during the time of distress following the initial few hours after the 7.9 magnitude quake hit Nepal on Saturday, April 25.
Facebook has managed to raise more than 10 million dollars to support relief effort.
