Controversial self-styled godwoman Radhe Maa is in trouble once again and this time for carrying a ‘trishul’ on a flight.

Mumbai Police on Tuesday lodged an FIR against her for carrying a `trishul‘ on a flight from Aurangabad to Mumbai in August 2015.

Airport police station registered the case after an order from the magistrate’s court earlier this month directed the police to lodge an FIR under the Arms Act. The case was filed by RTI activist Asad Patel who had approached the court seeking registration of FIR.

Here is a look at some other instances where she landed herself in trouble:

  • In August 2015, a dowry harassment case was filed against her for instigating the in-laws of a 32-year-old housewife to harass her for dowry. As the in-laws of the complainant were disciples of Radhe Maa, it was alleged that the godwoman provoked them to demand dowry from the housewife. She was later released on bail in October.
  •   Another case was filed against her in August, where lawyer Falguni Brahmbhatt filed a public interest litigation (PIL) against her for indulging in obscenity during her satsangs. The case was later turned down by Bombay High Court.

  • In October 2015, Bollywood actress Dolly Bindra accused Radhe Maa of sexually exploiting her. In her complaint, TV actress Dolly Bindra has alleged that she used to be a follower of the godwoman who attended her prayer meetings, but found them to be ‘obscene’, adding that the godwoman would ‘force’ her to ‘get close’ to male devotees.
